More About
Nottingham Trent

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is one of the UK’s largest and most dynamic higher education institutions, enrolling over 40,000 students across multiple campuses, ranking 6th nationally by total enrollment. A long-standing innovator, NTU has earned the titles of University of the Year five times in six years, most recently being named Modern University of the Year in the 2023 Good University Guide.

NTU is especially celebrated for its outstanding employability, topping the 2024–25 Uni Compare rankings as #1 in the UK for employability, and also leading in course quality while ranking high in student life and accommodation. The university operates an Employability Promise—for students not progressing into work or further study 12 months after graduation, NTU offers a paid internship as part of its support initiative.

Academically, NTU excels across the board. It holds a Gold rating in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and is ranked 2nd most sustainable university globally by the UI GreenMetric rankings. The university boasts strong subject-level standings:

  • ranked 2nd in Forensic Science
  • 4th in General Engineering
  • 5th in Pharmacology & Pharmacy

and high positions also in creative arts, marketing, and more.

NTU’s Nottingham Business School (NBS) holds the prestigious triple-crown accreditation—EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA—and has received recognition for its entrepreneurial and regional impact through the Small Business Charter.

When it comes to career outcomes, 94% of graduates proceed to employment or further study within six months, and the university maintains active links with over 6,000 businesses—employers include Microsoft, Toyota, Boots, Experian, and Rolls-Royce. NTU’s placement statistics are similarly impressive, with a 97% placement rate, especially through sandwich years or industry placements, and strong representation in operations, business development, arts, sales, IT, finance, and HR.

Student life at NTU is vibrant: campuses across Nottingham—including City and Clifton—offer excellent facilities, accommodation, and rich cultural experiences. The city itself regularly features in the top 10 UK student cities, and NTU ranks 7th in the UK for sports. The student body is diverse with 37% from ethnically diverse backgrounds, and NTU holds commitments to social mobility, mental health, and disability inclusion.
